In the lead to CES 2022, LG has launched OLED EX, a new type of OLED TV display which is up to 30% brighter than the previous generation, thanks to exotic deuterium. OLED TV is currently among the most popular models, thanks to the high-quality images they provide. Because every pixel is illuminated, they can be turned off individually, allowing the TV to produce perfect black and avoid hello type blooms led.
How The OLED EX Works
Deuterium is a relatively rare hydrogen isotope, with only one deuterium atom per 6,000 hydrogen atoms. LG has produced an efficient way to extract deuterium from water, and use it to “make a very efficient organic light transmitter diode that emits stronger light.”
In addition to the use of Deuterium, OLED EX TV includes personalized algorithms that help TV better control how to display content. Because TV was used, he studied the patterns of watching and how to predict better use of up to 33 million organic light transmitter diodes in the 8K OLED model. This allows the TV to display video content more precisely.
The combination of deuterium components and personalized algorithms help ex OLED reaches 30% more brightness. LG clearly sees OLED EX as the evolution of the next OLED design, and as a competitive advantage in the TV market.
“Even though the global TV market has decreased 12 percent this year, we still observe 70 percent OLED sales growth,” Dr. Oh Chang-ho, executive vice president & head of the TV business unit on the LG screen. “With our new EX OLED technology, we aim to provide a more innovative up-class customer experience through our OLED evolution, algorithms, and designs.”
